CEEJ
Crisis, Education, and Epistemic Justice.
'Crisis is upon education’. This is the concern that brings together practitioners, academics, researchers, and enthusiasts under the umbrella of the network CEEJ. How do we imagine a world in which people thrive through education, and education thrives through people?
The CEEJ network explores the effects of crisis on education and epistemic justice (broadly defined as valuing individuals’ knowledge and perspectives within a community) through three key thematic areas: conflict, marginalisation, and climate. We view each of these themes as a form of crisis, and we seek to learn more about their impacts through organized social cultural and creative activities, publications, coordinated reading groups, and other hosted events. If any of these themes or subtopics resonate with you, we welcome you to subscribe to stay updated with our network!

Questions for the CEEJ Network

Mayor's Priorities:
We differentiate ourselves from all the other Australian startup and blockchain.
How do different forms of crisis (war, displacement, genocide, epistemic marginalization, environmental destruction) intersect to negatively impact educational access, quality, and outcomes for vulnerable populations?
What are the historical roots, power dynamics, and ideological forces that enable the perpetuation of educational injustices and cognitive harms against certain communities?
How can educational institutions, curricula, and pedagogies be transformed to dismantle systemic biases, accommodate pluralistic ways of knowing, and empower marginalized voices?
What role can education play in preventing future atrocities, resolving conflicts, promoting sustainable living, and fostering more equitable societies?
What is the role of the institution, student, and academic in the above?
What practices exist for providing quality education amidst disrupted environments and constrained resources faced by displaced populations and crisis-affected regions?
How could we challenge ableism for an equitable world?
